A wing half who played 1 game in the 1938/39 season for Chelsea FC and a few more in regional competitions in the early months of WW2 while serving as a special constable in the Police Force.

Subsequently called up for the Army, he was later invalided out of the forces following a motor cycle accident and was unable to resume his football career.
