A reliable centre half who was signed from Pollock, the Scottish Junior club, in the summer of 1931.
Although playing most of his football in the Combination side he was first choice during 1937/38 and indeed captained the first team for most of that season.
Bob remained with Chelsea until the outbreak of WW2 when he joined the Police War Reserve, making occasional appearances in regional football before retiring in 1941.
