Robert "Bob" Collins of Hale, MI passed away on May 22, 2022. He was born in Flint, MI, on May 18, 1938, to Earl and Violet Collins. After graduating from high school Bob studied engineering and went to work for General Motors until retiring in 1992 after 34 years serving in various skilled trades and leadership roles. He married the love of his life Sharon Spears on December 7, 1957. He was an active member of the Riverside Hunt Club in Hillman, MI. Bob grew up visiting Long Lake with his parents and officially retired on the lake in 1996. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, his devoted dog Cocoa, the outdoors, fixing things around the house and helping others in the community. When the kids were young he had a great passion for building some of the fastest motorcycles on the track. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sharon; children, Curtis Collins, David Collins, Robert (Chris) Collins, Jon (Kristine) Collins; sister, Mary Kay Korty, 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Don Korty. A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Buresh Funeral Homes in Hale, MI.
