Gregory Dewayne Helton, 57, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at home.

He was born September 29, 1964 in Jefferson City, the son of Larry and Carol Helton.

A lifelong resident of the Eldon, Etterville, and Jefferson City area, Greg graduated from Eldon High School in 1982 and worked for David E. Schell Masonry and Unilever (34 years) until retiring in 2021.

Greg was an expert in war history, especially WWII. He was also an avid Kansas City Royals fan. He collected numerous guns and enjoyed shooting at target ranges. He played harmonica and loved outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking in the woods. He always liked visiting family and enjoyed time alone reading books, the Bible and listening to 60's and 70's music....

He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents, Robert and Nellie Helton, and Earl and Grace Whittle.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Greg at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
