Mrs Betsy Burroughs, the grandmother of Mrs David Saylor and Mrs Naaman Apple, who formerly lived here, died in Allen Twp, Union Co, OH, a week ago last Wednesday. The deceased has been living with her son Allen Burroughs of Allen Twp. Mrs Burroughs was twice marriaged, the second time to a man named Orahood with which she lived a short time, there were no children by this union and she preferred to go by the name of her first husband, they had four sons and one daughter. The oldest son William Burroughs, aged 82 years, and resides in Paulding, OH, Joel Burroughs near Urbana, Newton Burroughs in Urbana, and the daughter Mrs Lindie Draper in North Lewisburg. Including children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Mrs Burroughs has 185 descendants. Upton Sharp of Marysville is one of her grandchildren. She was very small of stature, weighing only about 65 pounds. Mrs Burroughs exact age was 105 years, 6 months, 20 days. She was born January 27, 1796 in Susquehanna Co, PA, and in 1805 came with her parents to Ohio, settling in Portage Co, and afterwards in Allen Twp, Union Co.
