After graduating from Winfield High School, Matt served as a medic in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he attended Washburn University, where he earned his bachelor of science in nursing.
Matt was preceded in death by his father, Jake Bond; grandparents, Roy and Doris Thompson; grandmother, Anna Bond; aunt, Linda Koonce; and uncles, Fred Koonce and Carl Arndt.
Matt is survived by his mother, Kay Bond; sister, Kellie Casero; brother, Joshua Bond; three sons, Cetan Waugh, Graham Bond and Taylor Bond-Burrus; and girlfriend, Sharla Cloud.
