Karla Greta Williams, 83 of Lonoke, Arkansas was greeted into heaven by our Lord and Savior on May 25, 2022. She was born October 4, 1938, in Omaha, NE to the late Hans and Luella Hoff.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by their infant daughter, Kathleen Marie Williams; brother, Roland Hoff, sister and brother-in-law, Jack and Arlene Lee; brother-in-law, Don Denbeck; sister-in-law, Ann Hoff; and special family friends, Judy and Nathan White.
Karla married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Williams on October 19, 1957, in Omaha, NE. She is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Jenese (Kim) Schroeder of Lonoke, Scott (Kay) Williams of Searcy, and Barbara (Lynn) Evans of Lonoke.
She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Kim (Tanya) Schroeder, Nicholas (Brandi) Schroeder, Audrey (Brian) Bullock, Beth (Brad) Davis, Bo (Lydia) Williams, Hannah (David) Kloske, Spencer (Matilda) Evans, Erica (Kiefer) Keichline, and Emily (Ladd) Rodgers.
God gifted her with 20 great-grandchildren, Nicolet, Zino, Josephine, Isabella, Wesley, Peyton, Asher, Cohen, Jacob, Olivia, Caine, Grant, Maggie, Anderson, Holden, Case, Beckham, Maeve, Rose, and Asa.
She is survived by her siblings, Robert Hoff and Darlene Denbeck; sister-in-law, Doris Hoff; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Bob was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base and met Karla on a blind date. With Bob's career in the military, they along with their family traveled the United States, before settling in Lonoke in 1974 to be closer to family.
In her earlier years Karla was a housewife and stay at home mom. Karla worked at Kellwood, before going to work at Lackie's Drug Store for 20 years.
Karla was of the Lutheran faith all her life and was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church for 53 years. Karla served on the altar guild and LWML for many years. She was instrumental in making banners to help decorate the chair sanctuary for the different seasons. She was a member of the adult bible study class, and taught Sunday school and VBS when her children were little.
She could master any task she took on from cooking and canning to sewing and painting, but her favorite hobby was making beautiful quilts for her loved ones and friends. All new babies that joined her family would receive a handmade quilt that was made just for them from her. Karla was a member of the Cabot Nimble Thimble Quilt Guild and enjoyed taking classes at the French Seam and enjoyed the fellowship with her sewing and quilting friends.
In the summer she would can vegetables from the garden that Bob would grow. One of the favorite meals she would cook was roast and potatoes with purple hull peas out of the garden.
Karla enjoyed going with the ladies to play Bunco. She would never leave the house without her hair fixed and lipstick on. She was a lifetime member of Weight Watchers – which she was proud of. However, she was even prouder to be a two-time cancer survivor.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, May 30, 2022, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke, Arkansas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Hope Lutheran Church, 1904 McArthur Drive in Jacksonville, Arkansas with burial to follow at Brownsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Hope Lutheran Church.
