Age 86, died Saturday morning, May 7, 2022 at Trinity Health (St. Joseph Mercy Hospital) in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was born on May 24, 1935 in Sesser, Illinois to Norman and Georgia (Joiner) Spencer.
Norma enjoyed her childhood and looked forward to being a "mom". She worked hard as a homemaker, raising her six children and loving every minute. Her children in return, loved her dearly and always appreciated her joyful personality. Norma always had a smile and loved talking to people. She was well known for her lovely flower garden, her love of birds and her beautifully manicured nails which she always made sure were kept polished.
Norma is survived by her children: Timothy (Roberta) Melton of Texas, David (Iva) Melton of Dundee, Christina Brooks of Dundee, Jack (Janet) Melton of Adrian and Bobby White of Dundee. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, a sister Donna Cockrum and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Isom and her daughter, Georjean Hadley.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm with services beginning 2:00pm. Procession to Maple Grove Cemetery, Dundee, MI will follow. Those desiring may make contributions to the family.
