Ocala, Florida - Mildred Ruth Edwardson (Anderson), beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, went to spend the rest of eternity in Heaven on May 24, 2022. She was loved, admired, and respected by everyone who knew her. Mildred was born on August 17, 1927, in Terre Haute, Indiana, and raised on the family farm near West Terre Haute.

After high school graduation, she married J. Albert Edwardson, also of West Terre Haute, and over the years lived in Carmi, IL; Evansville, IN; Tell City, IN; Terre Haute, IN; and died while living near her daughter Sally Greulich in Ocala, FL.

Mildred outlived her husband of 52 years and her siblings Rosemary Flener (Anderson), Alice Nickel (Anderson), Betty Easthom (Anderson), and Joe Anderson Jr.

Surviving are her children John A. Edwardson of Boca Grande, FL, Lorna Schroeder-Laufenberg of Sturgeon Bay, WI, and Sally Greulich of Ocala, FL. In addition to her children, surviving her are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws, mostly living in Indiana and Illinois.

While spending many of her years as a homemaker, and always as a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mildred also worked outside the home to help pay for her children's college educations and for health insurance when her husband was sick. She served as a volunteer in numerous church, school, and children's activities and was President of the Tri-State Petroleum Wives and of the Hen House Artist Cooperative, both in Evansville, Indiana. Mildred also won many contests over the years by writing poems, jingles, and ditties. She loved reading and traveling, as well, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles with her husband, Albert. As a child of the Great Depression, Mildred lived by the Four Rules of "use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without." She and her husband never bought anything on credit, except for their homes, and they taught their children to live the same way.

Mildred was a member for many years of the United Methodist Church in Carmi and the McCutchanville United Methodist Church near Evansville, IN. Private burial services will be held at the McCutchanville Cemetery where her husband Albert is buried on June 5th, 2022. A memorial service will be held at Bethany United Church of Christ, 201 West Miller Ave in West Terre Haute, IN, on June 4th at 11AM
