HICKORY, N.C. - Our loving and devoted nanny, mother, sister, wife and friend to all whose lives she touched, Donna Bowman Houston, 72, of Hickory passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at her residence.
She was born April 15, 1950 in Catawba County to the late Donald Earl Bowman and Alda Marie Benfield Bowman. Donna was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory and was retired from Old Hickory Tannery.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 52 years David Carson Houston of the home; son Shawn Houston and wife Scottie of Bethlehem; daughter Dawn Houston Roberts and husband Kip of Hickory; sister Sandy Bowman Houston and husband Darrell of Newton; brother-in-law Terry Houston and wife Jane of Boone; sister-in-law Kay Huffman of Conover; grandchildren Hunter Houston (Taylor), Cole Houston, Savannah Henline, Luke Houston, Chloe Henline and Lauren Roberts; and K-9 Companion Biscuit.
A memorial service to celebrate Donna's life will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory. Rev. Bill Sturm will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.
