Andrew Pete Sanders, age 79, a resident of Foley, AL, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Pete was born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi. He graduated from Greenville High School, and later, Mississippi State University with a BS degree in the College of Business. He married Marsha R. Slaughter in August of 1964. He was employed by Memphis Bank & Trust Co, and then moved on to work for the Mississippi State Tax Commission.

After the eldest of his three daughters was born, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here he was co-owner of JR Trenching & Excavating, and later TELCA Construction Company. This is the place where Pete and Marsha settled, raised their three daughters, and began an adventurous life which included hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, golfing, and square dancing. Red River, New Mexico became a second home for the family where many memorable years were created. He was an avid NASCAR fan and attended races at Talladega, Bristol, and Daytona tracks. He attended the Baptist church everywhere he lived and led his family as a Christian father.

He was preceded in death by his father Andrew Pete Sanders, Sr., his mother Rosalie B. Sanders, and brother Wallace B. Sanders.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha R. Sanders, Foley, AL; daughters, Andrea S. (Stephen) Wall, Owasso, OK, Kimberly R. Allen, Foley, AL, Marsha (Marce) C. Sanders, Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Hannah R. DeBlois, Albuquerque, NM, Logan A. Wall, Owasso, OK, Lillian R. Wall, Owasso, OK, Eva R. Allen, Foley, AL, Luke A. Sanders-Pogan, Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Skeet R. (Sue) Sanders, Greenville, MS, Jan B. (Susannah) Sanders, Greenville, MS; many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Chapel, Foley. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Pine Rest Memorial Park, Foley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Foley First Baptist Church Sanctuary Fund.
