Lillian Mona Lewis Driskill, 93, passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2022. Born January 3rd, 1929 the daughter of Lyttleton and Martha Vogel Lewis she grew up in St. Matthews, KY and developed a lifelong love for tennis after her father built the family a backyard tennis court. She continued playing into her early 80s.

Mona attended Greathouse Elementary, Barret Junior High, and graduated from Atherton High School. In 1952 she married 2nd Lt. John "Jack" Glenn Driskill of Louisville, a newly graduated cadet of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Jack rose to the rank of Colonel and his career took them to numerous U.S. Army bases, including a 4-year assignment to Heidelberg, Germany, allowing them to travel often in Europe. After 27 years of military service, they spent the next 30 years in Texas where Jack began a second career as Engineer for the City of Garland. They were married 53 years until his passing in 2006. In 2013 she returned to Kentucky and settled at Magnolia Springs East. She had many good years making friends, walking daily, and spending quality time with her nephews and nieces.

In addition to her husband, Mona is predeceased by her parents, brothers Craig and Lee Lewis, and sister Camille Chervenak.

Mrs. Driskill is survived by her nephews, John Lewis (Lisa), Todd Lewis (Jan), Lee Lewis, Jr. (Jacquelyn), Eugene Chervenak, Jr. and Michael Chervenak (Sandi); nieces, Karen Wiser (Dennis), Barbara Lorch (Joe), Kelley Ebert (Chad), and Brittany Lewis, Susan Coombes (Steve) Nelson New Zealand; brother-in-law, Eugene Chervenak; sister-in-law, Martha Rankin, and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.
The family deeply appreciates the care and support provided by Hosparus Health, particularly home health nurse, Jennifer Bradbury and the staff of Magnolia Springs East.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, May 31st at noon. Visitation will be prior to the funeral beginning at 10AM. Graveside service to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
