Sharon Marie Johnson was born in Thief River Falls, MN on February 6th 1945 to Doris (Olson) and LeVerne Johnson of Warren, MN. She grew up and attended school in Newfolden, and graduated high school from Middle River in 1962. She was married to her high school sweetheart Charles (Chuck) Walton of Middle River on January 6th, 1962 and made their home in Middle River, MN. They welcomed their first child, Brian, in 1962, followed by Brent in 1964, and Barry in 1968. Charles and Sharon raised their boys in Middle River and worked together at Walton's Inc Implement in Middle River until 1990 and then Marvin Windows until their retirement in 2010. Sharon was a member of First Lutheran Church of Middle River, a member of the Eagles and American Legion Post 444 Auxiliary.

Sharon had many passions in life and her greatest was spending time with her family and friends. She was the beloved matriarch and showed her family how to value all of the good things life has to offer. Sharon loved making time for her grandchildren, whether it was making cookies together or going for a Ranger ride, or even playing a game of kickball in the yard, she was always their biggest cheerleader. She loved all animals, especially dogs, and they loved her back unconditionally. It wasn't too often one would see her without a furry sidekick. She had wonderful skills in the kitchen. Her roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy were the family favorite along with her "world famous" potato salad, and all other chocolate chip cookies get compared to hers.

She was the ultimate farm wife and mother; making meals late at night, hauling the guys back and forth, and making trips for parts was part of her summer life. She also spent her summers at their home away from home Buffalo Bay, Canada. There she spent her time camping, playing many games of cards in the Gazebo, as well as teaching her grandkids how to fish. Sharon was always proud to put the American Flag up in the back of the boat to show everyone the limit was caught. It wasn't unusual to find many people over on a Friday night for a fish fry and corn hole at the Walton's campsite. On other days, one could find her rooting on the Twins or Vikings depending on the time of the year. She was a diehard Minnesota fan and had the full game day attire to prove it. After retirement, she and Chuck spent winters in Laughlin, NV where they have many friends that have become family. She loved the beautiful weather during backyard barbeques and always had a way of getting royal flushes at her favorite casinos. She loved to work outside in her garden and took pride in her beautiful flower beds.

Let's not forget the hugs. When Sharon hugged you, you knew you were hugged. She showed her love in so many ways and touched the heart of each one of us. She will be missed by many and we all are better to have known her.
