Uncertain of Burial location, but her husband was buried here, or at least memorialized here and from this obit, I cannot imagine them being separated.

On Sunday, December 20, 2020, Hilda Collier Goff, of Winter Park, FL, loving mother to her six children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully at age 95.

Hilda Collier Goff was born on March 11, 1925, in Ocala, FL to Julia Rebecca Collier nee Meadows and Eric John Collier. At age 4, she lost her father to pneumonia and she grew up with her sister, Frances, and her brother, Jack, as she was raised by her single mother. Hilda shared many childhood memories and stories about "growing up on 48 acres" in Ocala and living through the Great Depression. She received a Bachelor's degree in Education from Stetson University in Deland in 1948 and worked as an elementary public school teacher. Hilda married the love of her life, Curtis Goff, on July 9, 1948 in Ocala. They raised 3 sons and 3 daughters and called Winter Park their home since 1960. Their Winter Park home was beloved by many family members, friends, and neighbors who enjoyed the lake, dock, tall windmill, and fallout shelter, but most importantly, Hilda's hospitality and sweet personality.

Hilda had a passion for being outdoors, constantly working on her gardens, bird watching, and caring for her beloved chickens. Hilda loved music and listening to her children and grandchildren perform was one of her greatest joys. She was a prolific letter writer and loved sending letters and receiving them from family and friends. Hilda was known for her quick wit, good advice, story telling, engaging in lively conversations, strolls through her gardens, and many funny and insightful sayings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Park, the Sorosis of Orlando Women's Club, the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society, was a poll worker for many elections, and along with husband Curtis was a founding member of the Citrus Club of Orlando. As a lifelong Democrat, Hilda believed in helping others. "Turtle Grandma", a nickname given to her by her first grandson because of her love of turtles, will always be remembered for her infectious smile, laugh, and her kind, peppy, and compassionate spirit.

Hilda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Curtis, in 2001. She is survived by her 6 children and (spouses), Richard (Bonnie), Tom (Pam), Rebecca (Bob Fee), Amy (Gary Boynton), Eric (Tina), and Joy (Rich Marcil), 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 at 10 o'clock a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society (Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Society, Inc., c/o Anne Pierce, 249 Herman Drive, Hawthorne, FL 32640) or Stetson University (online at www.stetson.edu.give or by mail to Stetson University, 421 N. Woodland Blvd., Unit 8286 DeLand, FL 32723).
