Cheryl L. Howe, 75, of Oppenheim, New York, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, May 24, 2022 at home in Oppenheim, with the love, support and comfort of her children and their families by her side.

She was born on February 12, 1947 in Little Falls, New York and was the daughter of the late, Russell and Clarida (Aubin) Stowell. Cheryl was educated at Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School and graduated with the Class of 1964. Later in life, Cheryl furthered her education and earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Fulton Montgomery Community College, graduating in 1991.

On April 23, 1966, Cheryl was united in marriage to Dante W. Howe, Sr. at the Oppenheim United Methodist Church. They shared a union of 38 years and raised their four children together. Mr. Howe passed away on February 8, 2005.

Cheryl spent many years as a loving homemaker and mother. Later on, she worked for Fulton County as well as the Hamilton Fulton Montgomery B.O.C.E.S as an administrative assistant. She retired from there after 15 years of employment.

She was a faithful member of the Oppenheim United Methodist Church and the Oppenheim Senior Citizens Center. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoyed countless hours of bingo, Yahtzee, cards, and garage saling with her daughter and granddaughter. She enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis Presley and Charlie Pride and always at max volume. She was an avid Syracuse University Basketball fan. Above all, the utmost important thing in Cheryl's life was her family. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. The close-knit bonds she created with each member of her family will be cherished forever. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Cheryl will be missed beyond words.

Cheryl is survived by her four loving children and their families, Dante W. Howe, Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Oppenheim, NY, David W. Howe and his wife, Cheyene of Dolgeville, NY, Danielle W. Mosher and her husband, Ronnie of Little Falls, NY and Darian W. Howe and his wife, Hailey of Dolgeville, NY; cherished grandchildren, Douglas W. Howe and his companion, Kaitlyn Duesler of Dolgeville, NY, Sarah J. Howe and her companion, Rodney Thayer, Jr. of Oppenheim, NY, Samantha R. Mosher and her companion Dillon Holmes, of Little Falls, NY, Ian C. Mosher of Little Falls, NY, Kayla (Dzimitrowicz) Torres and her wife, Alicia of Herkimer, NY, Chelsea Bennett of Herkimer, NY Darian W. Howe, Jr. of Dolgeville, NY and Daphnee W. Howe of Dolgeville, NY; great-grandchildren, Peyton L. White of Dolgeville, NY and Carson Zawtocki of Salisbury Center, NY; Anacelia Torres of Herkimer, NY, a sister, Carolee DePiazza, of Oppenheim, NY; a cousin, Karen Andriola of Gloversville, NY; a sister in law Cindy Howe of Fort Plain, NY, several cousins and extended family members.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son, Douglas W. Howe, her in laws James and Bernice Howe, brother Colin "Colie" P. Stowell, brother in laws James and Alan Howe, and two grandchildren, Steven Dzimitrowicz and Tiffany Hall.

The Howe/Mosher families wish to extend a huge thank you to her special caregivers: Shirley Giarrusso, Linda Guile, Sam Siver, Wendy Shaut and Heather Wittmann. The kindness you had all shown to our mama was absolutely remarkable.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Oppenheim United Methodist Church located at 6844 State Highway 29, Dolgeville, New York 13329, with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams, pastor officiating. A committal service will immediately follow at Finch Cemetery on Mill Road, St. Johnsville, New York 13452 where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Dante. All are invited to attend the services.
