Her family moved to Green Bay as a young child. She graduated from East High School. On June 9, 1951, Margaret married James "Jim" Ford in Winneconne, WI. Margaret was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay and was a woman of deep faith who enjoyed meeting with her bible study group.
Maggie's life was raising her kids. Once they were in school full-time, she worked part time for various companies and organizations doing administrative work. Maggie loved traveling, junking with her friends, took up skiing at 50 and loved her time with the ladies on Mary Antil's Ski bus, meeting friends for breakfasts and lunches, sailing with family and friends and gardening. She enjoyed a cold beer on a hot day, otherwise a glass of Chablis. Giving back by volunteering was important to Maggie. The organizations she volunteered at included, Grace Lutheran Church, Bellin Health, Woodside Senior Living, Green Bay Botanical Garden and the Allouez Beautification Committee.
She is survived by her children, Patrick (Diane) Ford, Barbara (Jim) Strutz; grandchildren, Melissa (John Greathouse) Ford, Christy (fiancée, Katie Van Lannen) Ford, Kathryn Strutz and Tori (Ben) Fletcher; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elva and C. Arthur; her husband, Jim; her two sisters, Ruth Holck and Helen Reeves.
Friends and family will gather at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S Madison St, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6; Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
