Born in Greenville County, a son of the late Odus Chandler and the late Lois Coker Chandler, he was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed fishing, purple martins, and spending time with his family. Mr. Chandler proudly served his country in the US Marines during the Korean War. He retired as a lineman for Duke Power after thirty-five years of service and later had his own business, Powdersville Lawn Care. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Charles Kenneth Chandler, Jr. of Powdersville; brothers, Marvin "Buddy" Chandler (Peggy) of Piedmont, Tom Chandler of Anderson, Ray Chandler (Marlene "Molly") of Powdersville, Leon Chandler (Jean) of Belton, and Jerry Chandler of Laurens; a grandson, Jacob Chandler; and great-grandchildren, Jason Chandler, Elizabeth Chandler, Angel Few, Noah Few, and Lyla Chandler.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Billy Chandler; a sister, Diane Mills; and a grandson, Justin Chandler.
Entombment in Robinson Memorial Gardens Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum.
