TJ Buckels, 25, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Tuomey Medical Center in Sumter, S.C,, after a brief battle with melanoma cancer.

Funeral services were held on June 19 in Sumter S.C.

Mr. Buckels was born on September 25, 1978, in Flora, the son of Lieutenant Colonel James C. and Rhonda J. (Hagan) Buckels. He married Lisa Fleming on March 18, 1997. She survives.

He was raised in a military family living in Noble, Carbondale, Kirtland AFB in New Mexico, Hurlburt Field in Florida, and Shaw AFB in South Carolina.

Mr. Buckels is survived by his wife, Lisa Buckels, of Sumter, S.C.; two daughters, Tristin Jade and Desiny Clear, both at home; his parents, Lt. Col. James C. and Rhonda J. Buckels, of O'Fallon; a sister, Elizabeth Buckels, of Scott AFB; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Lois Hagen, of Noble; paternal grandfather, Jim Buckels, of Olney: and paternal grandmother. Bess Buckels, of Olney.

Donations may be made to a memorial fund established for his daughters at First National Bank in Olney.
