Richard E. Keefer, Sr., age 77, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Javon Bea Hospital, in Rockford.
Richard was born May 13, 1945, in Sterling, the son of Amos and Doris (VanDrew) Keefer. He married Dianna Foskitt on May 25, 1963 in Rock Falls.
He was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire for 31 years. Richard was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and going to the casino.
He is survived by his wife; two children, one son and his wife and one daughter and her husband; "adopted" son; one sister and her husband; two brothers and their wives; two sisters-in-law; four grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; three "adopted" grandchildren; three step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rodney Keefer.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 10:00 AM – Noon at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
A memorial has been established.
