James Boyd Dees
July 28, 1951 - May 7, 2022

James Boyd Dees passed on May 7, 2022, at the age of 70 years old in Visalia, California. James was born in Delano, California on July 28, 1951, to Haskell Johnny Dees and Frankie Ellen Dees. He was raised in Alpaugh, California. He was a lifelong resident of Farmersville, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Faye Weldon, Barbara Lake, Virginia
Brock, brother David Dees and granddaughter Cierra Lunceford. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Jackie Dees, son James (Jimmy) Dees and his wife Jennifer, daughter Misty Lunceford and his grandchildren Jonathan, Samuel, Michael, Destinie, Brandon, Serenity, Bentley, great-grandchild Stephen-Oliver and many nieces and nephews.

James graduated from Alpaugh in 1969 where he played baseball, football, basketball and was his student body Vice President his junior year. James worked at Early California Foods for 25 years. After they closed, he worked at Walmart Distribution Center, Department of Corrections, Santa Fe Tire and Wheel, and Smith Auto. He retired from Smith Auto at the age of 70.

In Early years he belonged to a bowling league, he enjoyed spending time with his wife at the lake and taking her to Laughlin. James also spent many years involved in the D.S.G.G 1855 Chapter of the Clampers, where he served as the 26th Humbug and dedicated a historical marker to his hometown of Alpaugh. James was one of the biggest Dale Earnhardt fans you would have ever met. In later years, he loved trivia whether it was calling in to a radio station to win prizes or sitting in his living room with a bowl of chocolate ice cream answering the questions of his favorite game shows on TV. He enjoyed visiting with his family and close friends even if it was only for a brief period. On Weekends you could always find James outside drinking a Coors Original and smoking a cigarette while "supervising" Jimmy doing the yardwork and washing cars.

James was a kind and loving person with a unique sense of humor. James was a believer in
"what you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone, but what is woven into lives of others."
James will be missed by his loved ones, and it gives them comfort knowing he is with the ones
that went before him and will be waiting for the ones he left behind.

A Celebration of Life will be had for James on Saturday June 4, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Myers
Reception Center located at 265 North E Street, Porterville California.

Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Memorial Tributes and condolences may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com.
