Tony Lavell Phillips, better known as "Travlin Tony", was born on November 14, 1959, in Abilene, Texas to Ethel Dale Phillips Bryant and the late Sammie McKinzy.

Funeral services will be, Saturday May 28, 2022 at 10:00am at New Light Baptist Church, 518 N. 6th Street, Abilene, Texas. Visitation Friday, May 27, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Buriel to follow at City Cemetery at 11:00am.

He attended Bowie Elementary School, Jefferson Jr. High School, and Cooper High School. During his childhood as a teen, he was in a musical band and was a member of the Junior Lockers dance group which he was Robot. Tony loved to tell funny jokes to make you laugh. And he had an infectious laugh and an awesome smile.

Tony married the love of his life, Shirley Lewis Phillips, on January 24,1987. They were married for 35+ years. Tony worked for Mrs. Baird's Bakery for 20 years and Star Dodge Hyundai for 15 years. Tony was also a member of New Light Baptist Church. He departed this life on May 20, 2022.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Shirley Phillips; daughter, Christye Golden (Chance); grandson, Zion Golden; sister-in-laws, Debra Lewis Perry (Steven) and Jacqueline Lewis Pardue, Midland, Texas; special Bonus Sister, Sandra Johnson (Robert); his famous uncle, Douglas Phillips (Special), Kansas City, KS.; his aunts, Ola Mckinzy Phillips, Kansas City, KS.; Essie Mckinzy Pittman, Victorville, CA and Lucy Mckinzy Qualls, Jamesboro, LA; stepbrother, Tommy Jay Fitzpatrick, Abilene, Texas; mother, Ethel Dale Phillips Bryant, Abilene, Texas; and hosts of cousins and friends.
