Edward "Ed" Benjamin Taylor, age 72, passed away at his home on Monday, May 23, 2022. He was a graduate of Archbishop Walsh High School in Olean, NY and received his BA in History from Thiel College in Greenville, PA. Ed was a member of the Order of DeMolay, Scottish Rite, Toastmasters International and an active member of Bridgeport United Methodist Church.

At the age of 14, he joined DeMolay and became the youngest Master Councilor in the history of Salamanca Chapter. For 22 years, he served as an Advisor for Clarksburg Chapter and, in 2009, he was awarded the Legion of Honor, the highest honor in the organization. He joined the Scottish Rite in 1983 and obtained the 32° Knight Commander Court of Honor. He also served as Club President of the Central WV Toastmasters for multiple terms and later became Area Governor. At his church, he was extremely respected and served as the Head Usher and member of the Finance Committee for multiple years.

Professionally, Ed worked for the Federal Government for 32 years- retiring from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2010 with multiple awards and accolades. He received three Assistant Director's Awards and was honored with the Director's Award in 1995.

Ed was a beloved father, friend and honorary grandparent. He had a passion for jazz, blues and bluegrass music and began taking guitar lessons at the age of 70. He loved entertaining friends and family, cheering on the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Washington Commanders and spending time with his dog, Tasha. He also enjoyed traveling throughout North America with his fiancé, attending concerts and visiting historical sites and landmarks.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward W. Taylor in 1954 and Morond Scott in 1996.

He is survived by his fiancé, Gina White of Stonewood; son, Brian Taylor and his wife, Courtney of Clarksburg; Gina's daughter, Elizabeth White and her husband Dr. Edgar Radjabli and their daughter, Evelyn of Boca Raton, Florida; and Gina's daughter, Natalie White of New York City, New York.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 10am with long-time family friend Rev. Michael Burge presiding. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park with masonic graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. The Davis-Weaver Funeral Home is honored to serve the Taylor Family during this time.
