Charles Eugene Byrum, 92, of Cleveland, passed away May 20, 2022, in Berryville, VA. He was a proud Army Veteran and devoted Christian who loved his family and friends dearly.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Ruth Byrum; his parents Roy Byrum and Stella Stewart; and his brother Clarence Byrum.
He is survived by his three children, Ronald Lee Byrum and wife Judy of Cleveland, Barbara Byrum Bosserman and husband Jerry of Berryville, VA, and Carl Wayne Byrum and wife Judy of Knoxville, TN; seven grandchildren, Adam Byrum, Kelly Byrum, Ashlee Wright, Louis Chapman, Jennifer Chapman, Brad Byrum, Candice Byrum; brother James Thomas Byrum of Athens TN; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on May 31, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow to Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors and Reverend Guinn Green officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity in his honor.
