Marion R. (Cobb) Weiss, age 83 of Shreveport, LA, formerly long time resident of Aurora, IL, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at her home.
She was born July 17, 1924 in Aurora, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Mary Cobb. Mrs. Weiss was a graduate of East Aurora High School and worked for over a decade for Barber-Greene. In 1950 she married Robert F. Weiss and raised her family in Aurora until 1976 when a job relocation brought them to Shreveport. Marion was an active member and volunteer at The Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, a skilled accountant, a sports enthusiast and enjoyed many activities of family life.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Bob; son, Rob (Amy) Weiss of Southlake, TX; and daughter, Kathy (Reed) Byhring of Geneva, IL; six grandchildren, Robert and John Weiss, Natalie, Meghan, Allyson, and Jimmy Radecki; step-grandchildren, Kara Jones, Lindsey, Jordan and Jason Byhring; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Erv) Nowak and Dorothy Weiss; brother-in-law, Richard (Sandy) Weiss; and many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Eileen Kellogg; and brother, Don Cobb.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to St. Mary Catholic Church for a mass at 10:00, Fr. Timothy Piazecki officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a wake service at 6:30 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois 60506.
