Michael Alan Doyle, 64, of Snug Harbor, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 22, 2022 surrounded by his adoring family.
Michael was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts to Gerald and Marion (Masse).
Michael spent summers in Matunuck, Rhode Island and never left the ocean. He graduated from Bishop Feehan High School but received his education on the water.
Michael is survived by his loving wife Margaret Doyle (Hoey), dear daughters Kelsey, Laura and. Future son-in-law Connor MacGregor, beloved grandchildren Connor and Mackenzie Heffner and Blake and Chase Gagne, and bonus daughter Mary Rose Eden. He leaves behind his sister Darlene Stookey (Robert) and brother James (Ramona). Mike was the ultimate family man; devoting his life to the love and success of his girls and grandchildren.
Mike is also survived by his "chosen family" - friends who have become family. Mike was a father figure to so many and offered the wisest advice to help anyone through any situation.
Mike's career and personal hobbies overlapped, with water being the common theme. Mike's best days were spent with his family on Point Judith Pond and in the pool. He taught many children to swim, a gift that he was so happy to share. Mike loved his dogs Boulder and Skipper. He enjoyed spending time in New Hampshire and South Carolina, where he had an extensive network of chosen family. Above all else, quality time with loved ones was the most important to Mike. He often reminded his daughters of the importance of time and spending it wisely.
Mike loved and respected the ocean with a deep passion. He started lobstering as an early teenager and began fishing commercially soon after. Mike was the proud owner of the F/V Seafarer and the F/V Charlie's Pride for over 30 years, leaving behind his friend and Captain Scott Smith. His family knows he is happy to be reunited with his best friend and Captain Charlie Niles.
