Shannon Dwayne Bishop
July 23, 1975 ~ May 13, 2022

Mr. Shannon D. Bishop, 46, of Elkhart, went on to be with his Lord on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 7:03 pm at the emergency department at Elkhart General Hospital following a cardiac event at home. He was born on July 23, 1975 in Greenville, South Carolina to the Reverend B.J. and Janice (Wright) Bishop, who survive him in Elkhart.

Also surviving Shannon are his daughters Sierra (Devin) Graves of Mississippi and Sydney Bishop of Florida, his brother Joe (Tracey) Bishop of South Bend and his grandchildren, Ayden Sommer and Devin Graves, Jr. Additionally, Shannon's memory will be cherished by a loving host of extended family, church family, good friends and maybe even a few ol' Jasonville "ridge runners".

Hosting services for Shannon will be the Ireland Road Church of God, 16555 E. Ireland Road, Mishawaka, where viewing will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, from 3 pm – 5 pm, followed by a celebration of Shannon's life starting at 5:00 pm. Bishop C. B. Wiseman will officiate the services and, as requested by Shannon, cremation will follow.

Shannon grew up in the church and served nearly all his life in one capacity or another. His parents, The Rev. B.J. and Janice, had a ministry in Jasonville, Indiana, and that's where Shannon really acquired a taste for working in the church. The family went on to move to Elkhart, where their ministry continued with the County Road 4 Church of God. There, Shannon served as Youth Pastor, Minister of Music, and, finally, Associate Pastor under the leadership of his dad. Shannon was tender-hearted and loved people, which explained his genuine concern for others, especially those within his congregation. Around 2012, following his parents' retirement and some adjustments within the church, the good Lord saw fit to set Shannon's life in a different direction. After some thought, he entered into the RV industry, where he worked until his passing. He had currently been employed in quality control at Reschcor in Bristol.

When he wasn't doing the Lord's work at church, or, really whenever he had the time and desire, he enjoyed taking off to go fishing, playing a round or two of golf, tinkering with his gadgets in his garage or simply relaxing to some uplifting gospel or praise and worship music.

Friends and family wishing to make a monetary donation in Shannon's memory may do so by donating to the Ireland Road Church of God, 16555 E. Ireland Road, Mishawaka.
