ANDREW J. YANCEY DIES IN CLARKSVILLE
Andrew Jackson Yancey, 61, president of Clarksville Furniture Co., died yesterday. Mr. Yancey was a former partner of Watkins-Cooper Funeral Home in Clarksville. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. The Mecklenburg County native was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Ercelle Jones Yancey; two sons, Ronald R. Yancey of Greensboro, N.C., and Gary Yancey of Alexandria; two brothers, Hampton Yancey and Lawrence Yancey of Richmond; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Griffin of Clarksville. A funeral service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday at Watkins-Cooper-Lyon Funeral Home with burial in Oakhurst Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mecklenburg County Rescue and Lifesaving Squad in Clarksville. (Richmond Times-Dispatch - Friday, October 7, 1988)

RITE PLANNED FOR CHIEF OF FURNITURE FIRM
A funeral for Andrew Jackson Yancey, 61, president of and partner in Clarksville Furniture Co., will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Watkins-Cooper- Lyon Funeral Home here. Burial will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery here. Mr. Yancey, who was a former partner in what now is Watkins-Cooper-Lyon Funeral Home, died yesterday in a South Boston hospital after a brief illness. He had worked for Clarksville Furniture Co. for about 36 years. Several years ago, he and two partners bought the business. While employed at Clarksville Furniture Co., Mr. Yancey also worked for Watkins-Cooper Funeral Home for about 29 years. He sold his interest in the business about five years ago. A Buffalo Junction native, he was a graduate of Clarksville High School. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines. He was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ercelle Jones Yancey; two sons, Ronald R. Yancey of Greensboro, N.C., and Gary Yancey of Arlington; two brothers, Hampton Yancey and Lawrence Yancey, both of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Eva Griffin of Clarksville; and a grandson. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mecklenburg County Rescue and Lifesaving Squad. (Richmond Times-Dispatch - Friday, October 7, 1988)
