Gladys C. Anderson, age 98 of Hastings, died peacefully at Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation on Thursday morning, May 12, 2022.

Gladys Cordella, the daughter of Cordt and Alice (Raasch) Quast, was born on February 25, 1924, in Zumbrota. Following her graduation from Zumbrota High School, Gladys was united in marriage to Vernon E. Anderson in 1943. They were blessed with five children and many memories prior to his passing in 2001. Gladys briefly worked at Hastings Office Supply prior to managing the Big V in the Midtown Mall. She then worked at Meloy Park Florist prior to her retirement. Gladys was a longtime member of the Hastings Lion's Club and the Regina Auxiliary. She enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers, and was always reading good mystery novels. Over the years, she and Vern also enjoyed playing many games of bridge and cribbage with friends as well.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon; children, James Anderson, Steven Anderson, and Nancy Sandberg; sons-in-law, Richard Sandberg and Robert Mike; and by her grandson, Brian Sandberg.

Gladys is survived by her daughters, Mary (Gary) Oehrlein and Marie Mike; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Delores VanHouten; and by many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Hastings, with Pastor Lloyd Menke officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., and to a luncheon immediately following the graveside service, all at the church on Tuesday.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
