Elaine was born November 9, 1938, the 3rd child of Laura and Clarence Kortright, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was from a farm family of 10 children and hard working parents
She attended School in Navina and Guthrie. She married Gary Franklin Cunningham on November 23, 1957 in Guthrie at the Preacher's house.
They lived in various places around the Guthrie area, settling on their farm south of Mulhall, Oklahoma in 1974. Elaine has always enjoyed planting a large garden and canning Green Beans and tomatoes.
She had fruit trees and loved to help Gary with planting crops and would make a huge meal to take to the field during wheat harvest and drive the Wheat Truck to the Elevator.
She has always had a love for all animals and when she found an injured animal, she would bring it home to care for it until it was healed.
She loved to go with Gary to feed the cattle and would help with working cattle and fixing fences.
Elaine loved to be outside and going on walks. She spent lots of time with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was involved with Guthrie West United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, the Mulhall Roundup club, Mulhall Methodist Church. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge in Mulhall. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Doris; brother, Laurence and his son, Sonny; sister, Carol and her husband Berry; brother, John and his wife Willa Jean; sister, Janice; sister, Judy and her husband, Raymond; sister, Nancy and her husband, Mark; and brother, Mark.
