Larry J. Murray age 72 of Lake Park, MN died March 29, 2020 in his residence.

Larry John Murray was born August 21, 1947 in Detroit Lakes, MN. He grew up and received his education in Detroit Lakes. He served in the United States Navy from 1965-1968 on the USS Wasp, which was an astronaut recovery ship that served the NASA Gemini Missions. Following his discharge, he moved back to Detroit Lakes and attended the Detroit Lakes Vocational and technical College, where he studied Auto Mechanics. Over the years Larry worked various places in Detroit Lakes, including AT&T, Ness Granite Works, and St. Mary's Hospital.

Larry's passion was attending auction sales. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiques, motorcycles, and time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by two brothers, Kevin (Karen) McDonald, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Keith (Teresa) McDonald, of W. Fargo, ND; one sister, Dianna (Bill) Sandsmark, of Fargo, ND; step father, Ronald McDonald, of Detroit Lakes, MN; several nieces and nephews; and a sister in law, Mary Lou Schmit, of Detroit Lakes, MN.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty McDonald; two brothers, Richard Peck and Gary Schmit; and one sister Debbie Schmit.
