Michael L. Wells, age 47 of Bridgewater, passed away after a motorcycle accident on September 8, 2021. Michael, born in Boston, was the son of the late Michael and Eileen (Linehan) Wells. Michael grew up in Randolph and then later moved to Bridgewater. He and his wife were raising their sons in his childhood home. He also graduated from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School in 1992. Michael was a talented mechanic who spent the last 11 years working for the DPW in Norwood and Wells Landscaping in Randolph before that.

Michael was the beloved husband of Cynthia (Cormo) Wells and the devoted father of Christopher and Matthew Wells of Bridgewater. In addition to being a husband and father, he was also the best brother ever to his sister Suanne Wells-Scott of Taunton, and an uncle to multiple nephews and a niece. Michael was also a beloved son-in-law, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, friend, and an all-around amazing person to all who knew him.

As a hard worker, Michael could always be counted on to go the extra mile at work, and would go out of his way to make time to help his friends and family. Michael would almost always figure out that random picture you would send him of your broken whatever, show you how to repack a trailer properly, or talk you through finding the right toilet flange (whatever the heck that even was) on the phone while you were in the plumbing section at Home Depot. We've lost count of how many times he would stop by a friend or family member's house to fix something, or he would disappear during a family gathering only to be found with his head under a kitchen cabinet fixing a leak, or in the garage fixing somebody's car. No matter what the job entailed, he would always insist that it was a "quick easy job"(spoiler alert, it was rarely as quick or easy as he insisted). It never mattered though, he would shrug his shoulders, give that sheepish grin of his and would do it all again when somebody else needed him.

Well known to all who knew him was Michael's love of motorcycles. A great day meant blue skies, a full tank of gas and the open road calling his name. Riding brought him relaxation and peace that few activities could rival; the roar of the engine was music to his ears and the wind in his face food for his soul. There were few things he liked to do more than being on a Harley, with Cindy and his friends riding by his side.

One thing that topped his love of motorcycles though, was his love of family, but especially the love he had for his boys Matt and Chris. To Michael, a perfect way to spend time was with those two. Whether snowmobiling in New Hampshire, camping with Scouts or just puttering around the garage taking stuff apart and getting dirty; Michael loved being with them. He loved teaching "his fellas" everything from engines to electricity, or plumbing to carpentry; you name it, the three of them could do it. Michael loved passing on the lessons he learned from his father.

Visiting hours will be held in the Prophett-Chapel of the Chapman Funerals and Cremations 98 Bedford Street Bridgewater on Wednesday, September 15th from 4-7pm; anybody that would like to share their memories of Michael will be invited to do so at the end of the service. Please feel free to dress in casual attire (t-shirts, jeans, Harley apparel, work boots etc). As homage to Michael's love of motorcycles, we enthusiastically invite you to ride your bike to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House 45 Gay Street Providence, RI 02905 in memory of Michael.
