Mrs. Janice Yates, 83, a resident of Union City, died May 21, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Leigeber will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Thursday at the White-Ranson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Yates was born on August 14, 1938, in Northville, MI, daughter of the late Carl and Julia (Charnisky) Miller. She was a homemaker and worked for Wayne Bank in Wayne, MI for 12 years. On August 1, 1964, she married Paul Yates. He preceded her in death April 17, 2021. She was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Clarksville and was currently attending Trinity Lutheran Church in Dyersburg.
The family requests memorials be sent to Kirkland Cancer Center, 720 West Forest Ave., Jackson, TN 38301.
She is survived by a daughter, Julia (Keith) Ransom; grandson, Jonathan Ransom; granddaughter, Rebecca Ransom all of Union City; sister, Alice (Marvin) Webber of Kawkawlin, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Paul James Yates.
