She was the youngest daughter of 9 children whose names all began with "E".
She met and married Leonard T. Walter in St. Louis, Missour during World War II. They were married for 74 years. After the war, she and Leonard moved to Clinton, Connecticut. They had 2 children, a daughter and a son.
Stella worked at various jobs in town and eventually became the helpmate and office manager for the businesses that she and Leonard owned. Stella and Leonard retired in 1978 and spent many years traveling with friends and family.
She and her husband enjoyed square dancing and participated in many dance clubs. Sewing was one of her favorite activities and she proudly made many of her own outfits for square dancing.
Stella made many quilts for her family and also enjoyed painting pictures.
