Walnut, MS. - Vernon Lee Barnes, 64, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth, MS. He was born June 24, 1943 to the late Lester and Willie Mae Wilbanks Barnes, Sr.. He was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He was retired from Hankins, Inc. as a saw filer.
Services at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2008 at County Line Baptist Church. Interment in County Line Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Annette Russell Barnes, of Walnut; one son, Randy Lee Barnes and wife, Karen Meeks Barnes, of Walnut; one sister, Marlene Barnes Russell of Union Center; one brother, Harold Barnes, Sr. of Walnut; three grandchildren, Lydia Leigh Barnes, Annabeth Holly Barnes, and Chloe Grace Barnes, of Walnut, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Lee and Willie Mae Wilbanks Barnes, Sr; and two brothers, F. A. Barnes and Lester Barnes, Jr.
