SCOTT ~ Graveside services will be held Friday, May 27, 2022, at a 12:30 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings for John Clark Gregory, age 84, who passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at Hospice of Acadiana Calcutta House in Lafayette.

Interment will be at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings. The Rev. Chad Thibodeaux, pastor of Vatican Baptist Church in Carencro, will officiate at the services.

Mr. Gregory was a native of Troup, TX and resident of Scott. He spent many of his years in Landscaping. A devoted Baptist and so passionate in his religion anytime you saw Mr. Gregory he had a Bible in his hand. A veteran of the military, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include one sister, Roberta Hudson of Camargo, IL; Four grandchildren, Jonathan Alvey, Thomas Alvey, Christina Alvey, and Benjamin Alvey; One daughter in law Maria Alvey.

He was preceded in death by his parents Madison Ivan Gregory of Thalis, TX and the former Naomi Langley of Mayfield, Ak; his wife, Mary Ann Gregory; one son Macy Lee Alvey, Jr.; and one grandson Macy Lee Alvey, III.
Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, (337) 896-3232, is in charge of arrangements.
