Ella Ruth Brown, 69 of Crossett, AR, died Tuesday, May 17,2022 at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR, She was a native of California, but a lifelong resident of Crossett. She was a 1971 graduate of Crossett High School, a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of Silver Star Chapter #306 Order of the Eastern Stars.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Gaines, and Cleola Mason Youngblood, five sisters, Eddy Mae Washington, Joyce Thornton, Juanita Gibbs, Rose Lincoln, and Helen Tucker, two brothers, Otha Washington and Preston Girtman, Jr., stepfather, Preston Girtman, Sr., a special 'Pops', James Webb, and a granddaughter, Taleah Brown. Ella enjoyed cooking, reading, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her church family and her church where she served faithfully in the Senior Choir and the Ushers' Ministry.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Todd Allen Brown, Sr. of Crossett, AR, one son, Todd Brown Jr. and wife Patricia of Golden Valley, MN, two sisters, Melba Wright and Carolyn Davis both of Crossett, AR,, four brothers, Leon Washington of Minneapolis, MN, Willie Girtman of New York, NY, James Girtman of Oakland, CA, and Nathan Girtman of Crossett, AR, four grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Elijah, and Todd Brown III.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Jesse Radford, Jr. officiating. Exodus Lodge # 403 will serve as pallbearers. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg, AR.
