MRS. ED COCO
Many hearts in Marksville and Avoyelles were saddened by the death of Mrs. Edward D. Coco, 76 years and one month, who passed away at her home on Thursday, March 15, 1934. Death came as a severe shock to the family and friends as she was active and seemingly in good health. Heart failure was the attributing cause.
Caroline Marie Coco, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anatole Coco of Hamburg; deceased, was born and reared in Avoyelles Parish. Here, too, she became the wife of E. D. Coco, the faithful husband, thus stricken in grief by her sudden death.
The couple made their home in Marksville, numbering their friends and their acquaintances. They went their way through live as good citizens, faithful friends and loving companions.
Mrs. Coco had met the years gracefully, retaining the charm of her early womanhood, sweetened and mellowed with age. She was, in many ways, a remarkable woman, possessing rare strength of character.
Funeral services were conducted in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Marksville, with the local priest officiating. The last rites were witnessed by a large congregation. Beautiful floral offerings banked the pretty casket. Interment in the Church Cemetery, Moreauville, under direction of Forest L. Dupuis.
Besides the husband, she is survived by her children: Mrs. W. Hogg of New Orleans, Mrs. Sam Richard of Lake Charles, Messrs. Anatole and Phanor Coco of Baton Rouge; sisters: Mrs. Herman Huesmann and Miss Laure Coco of Moreauville.
