Austin, Utah – Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Donna Gay Jones Nielsen, age 61, passed away May 19, 2022 at her home in Austin. She was born June 14, 1960 in Murray, a daughter of Vernon Whitney and Ruby Agnes Rowsel Jones. Donna grew up in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1978.
She married Leslie Kip Nielsen August 20, 1977 in Elsinore, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple August 20, 2002.
Donna is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Primary, Young Women's Presidency and various other church callings.
She enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing.
Donna will be greatly missed by her husband, Kip Nielsen of Austin; children: Leslie Kim and Liz Nielsen of Phoenix, Arizona; Tisa Jo Dawn and Ruben Garcia of Magna; 5 grandchildren: Zackry Nielsen, Darian Nielsen, Maxwell Nielsen, Tacie and Cory Robinson, Jeffry Garcia; siblings: Ken and Pat Jones, Keith and Lisa Jones, all of St. George; Linda and Mike Earl of Hurricane; Marylynn and Leroy Loftus, Rocky Jones, all of Richfield; Bonnie Herring of Elsinore.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ruby Jones; brothers, Ricky Jones and Lee Jones; and a sister, Carylynn Jones.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Monroe 4th LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Monroe Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
