Gary D. Wilson, 76, of Urbana passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at his home.

Gary was born on December 5, 1945 in Tuscola to Jesse and Mattie (Davis) Wilson. He married Amber Cox on June 7, 1968 in Tuscola.

He is survived by one son, Gary "Skip" (Vicki) Wilson Jr.; 7 grandchildren, Beth Hamilton, Chelsi Wilson (Brandon Knerr), Justin Wilson, Hanna (Sean) Hood, Dakota (Cayla) Delaney, Bryce Wilson, and Gabrielle Wilson (Levi Reed); 14 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Marlene Phillips, Ronald Wilson (Fran Adkinson), and Jerry Wilson; and a daughter-in-law, Jaelene Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Anthony "Tony" Wilson, and two siblings.

Gary graduated from Villa Grove High School in 1964 and was a four-year letterman. He worked for the roofer union local 97 for over 30 years. He enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, and going to Walnut Point State Park to fish and camp with his family. Gary was a big Chicago Bears and Fighting Illini fan.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.
