Mrs. Mavis Elaine Kirkman Suttle, 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. A private family viewing and Celebration of Life service will be held by the family. Burial will be in Epworth United Methodist Church cemetery. A native of Craven County, Mavis was a graduate of Farm Life School. For a number of years she worked as a bookkeeper in the automotive industry and also for Johnson Controls, retiring in 1998. She married Roger Elden Suttle in 1997 and they made their home in Winterville since 2006. Mavis was preceded in death by her parents, Dalton and Myrtle Hill Kirkman. She is survived by Husband of 23 years, Roger E. Suttle of Winterville; Son, James "Marty" Carpenter and wife, Deborah, of Trenton; Daughter, Jennifer C. Prince of Chicago; Grandchildren, Jordan Prince and Stuart Prince, both of Richmond, VA; and Noelle Carpenter; Step-children, Lisa Carey and husband, Bill, of Theodoshia, MO, Julie Goding of Pershall, TX,Kellie Dolrenry of Maui, HI, and Shellie Zeiler Becker and husband, Jason, of Firestone, CO, Allen Kalmar and Michael Kalmar, both of St. Peter's, MO; and a sister, Joyce Boykin of Garner.
