Ooda was educated in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania school system. He received his G.E.D. at Temple then went on to get his Plumbing License. He also obtained his CDL and worked for the Recreation Department of Philadelphia where he excelled with the help of his 1st cousin, Warren Gillis. He then found his place at the Philadelphia Water Department where he became a supervisor.
Ooda was very smart and what you would call a "Jack-of-all-Trades". He would debate with the best of them. He was a loving and gentle soul but very stern; and would not hesitate to do; if you know, then you know.
He was the first to get his wings out of his 15 first cousins. He was an excellent father and grandfather.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Linda Nelson; his father Holand Nelson; his children: Makal and Malik Nelson and Eric Adams; three grandchildren: Kamiyah, Hadir and KK Adams; three siblings: Nicole, Aaron and twin-sister, Tamiko Nelson; one brother-in-law, Randy Ingram; three nieces: Tashay Nelson, Lakirra Nelson and Kehlani Nelson; four nephews: Tyreed Nelson, Jewells Hamilton, Samaj Nelson and Xander Nelson; god-mom, Mary Strong; one god-sister, Lizzy; a very special friend, Courtney Brown who is also his childrens' mother; as well as a host of cousins (you know who you are) friends and other extended family.
