Margaret Anne Teefy 'Peggy' Stewart passed away peacefully, on Sunday, April 24, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Beloved wife, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend, Peggy always championed her loved ones, with maternal zeal. Sharp as a tack, Peggy often helped others by sharing tips and tricks, that improved their lives. She relished her role as the oldest of 8 sisters. Peggy faced life with pragmatic realism, all the while fully embracing life's joys, travel adventures, and milestones, with Tom, her husband of 25 years. A consummate administrator, Peggy retired from the University of Minnesota, after 36 years, having earned the respect and friendship of numerous colleagues. Born, raised, and having lived her entire life in south Minneapolis, Peggy cared about her city; she felt it her duty to know about neighborhood happenings and civic issues. She often regaled others with her tales of the city, from attending Regina high school to the building of 35W to the best local fish fry and bingo.

Preceded in death by Geraldine Teefy (mother); Paul Donald Teefy (father); Kathleen Teefy (sister); Kevin Teefy (brother).

She is survived by husband Tom Stewart, stepsons Mike Stewart (Jana), Pat Stewart (Melissa); step-grandson Colin; sisters, Maureen Teefy, Mary Rose Anyanwu, Patricia Teefy, Elizabeth Teefy McGregor (Bobby), Martha Hertelendy Teefy (David), Colleen Kaelin (Greg) and nephews and nieces, Isabella, Patrick (Bunny), Kevin, Conor, Akira, Marianna, Kathleen Mae, Magdalene, Joseph, Julia and Becket, and great nephew and niece Theodore and Gabrielle.
