Carol Ann Layman, 67, of Dunbar, formerly of Indian Head, passed away Thursday May 19, 2022, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 3,1954, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late David and Ruth Viola Horner Martin.

Carol attended Mt. Pleasant High School and had worked in the Food Service Department at Seven Springs Resort for several years. She was a member of the Christian Life Assembly Church in Melcroft. Carol enjoyed bird watching, flowers, and drawing.

Carol will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family, her daughters, Christine Layman and fiancee Bob Duda of Connellsville and Tina Beisel and husband Robert of Mt. Pleasant, her grandchildren Michael and girlfriend Cheyenne, Morgan and boyfriend Riley and her dad Terry Kuhn, Trenton, and Trevor, her step grandchildren Brittany, Tiffany, and Annabelle, her siblings Donna Snyder of Indian Head, Charles Saylor and wife Roberta of Painesville, OH., Audrey Porter and husband Harry of White, William Martin of Melcroft, and Robert Martin and wife Pauline of Indian Head, her brother-inlaw Richard Knight of Dawson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband, Barry W. Layman, on Oct. 4, 2013, and her sister, Janet Knight.

The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice and their staff for all of their wonderful care given to Carol during her illness.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd. Melcroft, (724-455-2310), where a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ron Dugan officiating.
