Born August 29, 1949, in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Hazel Genevieve (Lee) Johnston. He was also preceded in death by his longtime companion, Phyllis Bolden.
Bill was a coal miner, working for Island Creek Coal Company. He was also employed by Danny Bosley Construction. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish.
He is survived by a sister, Mary L. Kimble and husband, Richard, Oakland; three nieces, Marylynn Garrett and husband, Eddie; Cathy Taylor and husband, Brian, all of Terra Alta, WV; Richann Annarelli and husband, Mike and a nephew, William Kimble and wife, Tina, all of Swanton, MD; 10 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews; 3 great-great-nieces and 5 great-great-nephews.
At William's request he will be cremated. No services are being planned.
