John P. "Jack" Walsh, 84, of Summerville, husband of the late Sharon S. Walsh, passed away on May 19, 2022. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday May 22, 2022 from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 S. Main Street, Summerville, SC. A funeral mass will take place on Monday May 23, 2022 at 1 o'clock at St. John the Beloved, 28 Sumter Street, Summerville. Burial will follow at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Cape Cod, MA. Mr. Walsh was born on July 7, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Michael Joseph and Margaret Cooke Walsh. Mr. Walsh served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and did two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Mr. Walsh was most proud of his service as an Aviation Machinist Mate 1st Class on the USS Wasp. Survivors include: one son, David (Wendi) Walsh of East Taunton, MA; one daughter, Robin Walsh of Baltimore, MD; three brothers Michael, Patrick and Thomas Walsh of New York, NY; one sister, Ann Marie (Dominick) Leone of New York, NY; and two granddaughters; Jessica "lovey" Walsh and Erica "sweatpea" Walsh. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walsh was predeceased by his wives, Carolyn Walsh and Sharon S. Walsh. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sister Carol's food pantry in care of St. John the Beloved in honor of Jack Walsh.
