Savannah-Mr. Jim Paul Dees,92,passed away after a brief illness on Thursday January 15, 2009 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah,Georgia surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was a member of Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church serving on numerous boards. Mr. Dees was a farmer and former security officer at Edwin I Hatch Plant. He will be remembered as a devout Christian and loving father. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Edna Dent Dees,Lyons;six daughters, Brenda(Danny) Wilkes,Uvalda, Paula (Jerome)Toole,Vidalia,Wyneele Batton,Lyins, Elinor Dukes,Lyons,Elaine (Wendell) Dixon, Vidalia, Rhanita Dees, Lyons, one son,Preston (Deborah) Dees, Sylvania,;17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends ar the Murchison Funeral Home Saturday,January 17,2009,from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday,January 18,2009 at 3:00 P.M., in the Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment:Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
