David Frank Baker
August 4, 1952 ~ May 18, 2022 (age 69)

David Baker was born in Meadville PA.

Shortly after school, David started working for the local telephone company where he began his career in technology. This career path led him to NC where he went to work for Northern Telcom (Nortel) and BNR. Working for BNR, he spent a length of time living in Ottawa, Canada. He also worked for SAS Institute, Cisco, and Cree. With these various companies he traveled to California, Texas and China. David has three issued US patents as well as three international patents.

And if work wasn't enough, he was involved in creative entrepreneurial businesses with friends developing techie items for distribution. He also exercised his creative skills helping to develop Robotics. In his downtime he loved traveling and frequently went to the outer banks with friends, sitting on the beach and enjoying the ocean breeze. He loved animals and raised several dogs from shelters. Since a child, David had a generous heart and shared with many, giving way to several aliases throughout his life...aka... Unkie Dave, Wonder Brother, Wonder Uncle, Fearless Leader, Santa of the South as well as others.

David is preceded in death by his mother and father, Edwin Baker and Martha Jennings.

He is survived by his siblings: Eileen (Baker) Daniels, Charles Baker (Marlene), Francine (Baker) Armstrong (Rick); several nieces and nephews: Scott Daniels (Gaye), Anne Daniels, Katherine (Daniels) Young (Steven), Sara (Baker) Sloan (Nathan) and their children Harrison Sloan, Hailey Sloan, Landon Sloan, Kate Sloan, Matthew Baker (Paula) and their son Neil Baker.

A visitation and Celebration of Life service will be held for David Baker on Sunday, May 22nd at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, NC.

The family will receive visitors from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Service begins at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the animal rescue shelter of your choice in David's honor.
