Janet Clara Nelson Patton, age 77, most recently of Sharpsburg, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Janet was born February 12, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Howard John Nelson and the late Dorothy Clara Draheim Nelson. She taught Business Education in various school districts in Texas including (Sherman, Rains ISD, Commerce ISD and Douglass ISD) and developed office education curriculum for the state of Texas.
Janet was one of the first computer teachers in Commerce and enjoyed anything to do with business and computers. She loved a good Coca-Cola, Minnesota Chow Mein, and enjoyed her favorite candies (Snickers, Baby Ruth, Three Musketeers and around Easter...Peeps!). Although she was born in Minnesota and ended her life in Georgia, after many years in Commerce and Nacogdoches, TX, both she and her late husband, Ron considered themselves to be Texans through and through!
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Paul Patton; and her brother, Ronald John Nelson.

Private services will be held with close family.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and will be placed next to her husband, Ron, in Rosehaven Cemetery, Douglasville, GA.
