Rebecca Ann Wallace, 73 of Smyrna, Tennessee and formerly of Cookeville died Thursday evening in Vivian's Healthcare of Murfreesboro. She was born Monday April 4, 1940 in Putnam County to the late John Isaac, Jr., and Bertha May Clemons Lindsey.

Rebecca was a 5th generation member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She earned a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University in 1990 and worked as a Head Start teacher for more than 25 years. Her hobbies included reading, genealogy and traveling. She was a people-person who never met a stranger. She enjoyed learning about people and their families, but she especially loved her grandchildren and showing pictures of them.

She leaves behind her daughter: Vinnie (Terry) Hassler of Smyrna; grandchildren: Benjamin (Rachel) Hassler of Murfreesboro, Dr. Jared (Emily) Hassler of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lee Ann (Michael) Taylor of Smyrna and Lindsey (Kris) Baker of Lebanon; 11 great grandchildren Ally, Bennett, Brennen, Sophie, Lily, Max, Bella, Simon, Emmie, Julia & Ellie Kate; brother-in-law: Harold (Berneaze) Wallace; and cousins: Mary Belle Hickey and Rosie Maynard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years: Waymon Wallace; siblings: Valous Lindsey, Bill Lindsey, Vinnie Roberts, Purt Lindsey, Veda Lindsey Dew, Libby Burton and Delmos Lindsey.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 27th, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Cookeville, Tennessee. Interment followed in Cookeville City Cemetery with Bishop Derek Heap officiating.
