Mr. Richard E. Boucher, 89, of NY Mills, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, with his loving family by his side.

Richard was born in Salina, NY, on September 17, 1932, the son of Clayton and Margaret (MacRae) Boucher. He was raised in Utica and attended Utica Free Academy. Richard proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War. On May 5, 1956, Richard was united in marriage with Elizabeth (Betty) A. Lang at St. Joseph's Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 49 years, until Betty's death in 2005. For many years, Richard was employed with Niagara Mohawk Power Company, retiring in 1990 as Line Department Supervisor. He was a member and past treasurer of the NY Mills Optimist Club, a member of American Legion post 1376, New Hartford, VFW Malsan Jones post 7393 NY Mills, the Kilowatt Chasers and Local IBEW Retirees Club. Richard was also a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford and an active volunteer with various organizations in the area. He also enjoyed spending his free time, hunting, fishing and golfing.

Mr. Boucher is survived by his five children, Cynthia Boucher of Clinton, Donald Boucher of NY Mills, Susan Boucher of Utica, Robert Boucher of NY Mills and John and Michele Boucher of New Hartford; six cherished grandchildren, Johnny Alberico, Alya Alberico, Richard Alberico, Alexa Boucher and her fiancée, Zachary Gnatek, Lindsey and Dean Moffo and Brenden Boucher and his fiancée Nicolas Yzaguirre; three adored great grandchildren, Luci Wilk, Teagan Moffo and Mila Moffo; one sister, Carol Williams of Floyd; one brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Sharon Boucher of Remsen; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Boucher of MS and Joan Schwertfeger of Floyd and one brother-in-law, Richard Lang of Utica, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his beloved wife, Betty and parents, Clayton and Margaret, Richard was predeceased by an infant son, Richard J. Boucher, three brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Boucher, William and Jean Boucher and Donald Boucher and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Jean Lang, Ernest Williams and Mary Boucher.

Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest with his beloved Elizabeth in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville.
